Emerald City Theatrical is seeking Interns for its 2024 Summer Season.
With over 5 complete show packages being built in-house for local Theaters throughout New England this summer, ECT is looking for intermediate to highly skilled interns to join us for a fun-filled summer! We are looking for interns ages 18+ with fun and creative personalities!
The qualified intern will learn and partake in the functions of our Costume shop during the builds and alterations for each of our scheduled productions as follows,
- Assist with pre-show organization (pulling, restocking, etc.)
- Assist and execute costume builds.
- Assist designers with costume fittings as needed.
- Assist with alterations from fittings.
- Assist with costume crafts as needed such as painting, dyeing, etc.
Required Skills are as follows,
- Machine and hand sewing at an intermediate to proficient level
- Experience In Costume Tech, Theater Design, Fashion Design, Costume Crafts, etc is preferred but not required.
- A basic knowledge and understanding of general time periods and styles is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and transportation.
This is a stipend-based position based on experience to be paid out on the last of each month. Rate of pay is $16.00 per hour. Schedules will be flexible based on your availability and posted weekly. General work days will be 5-8 hours a day. The ideal candidate will commit to 3 work days a week with the option for more based on experience.
