Emerald City Theatrical is seeking performers for our upcoming production of Frozen the Musical. Performers of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to audition.

AUDITION SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Vocal Audition

• Prepare 16–32 bars in the style of the show.

Dance Submission

• Submit a dance reel including:
  • 3 counts of 8 choreography OR a short compilation
  • Maximum length: under 1 minute
  • Tap included if you have it (not required)

Virtual Callbacks

• Virtual callbacks for lead roles will be requested as needed.
• Callback submissions due one week after invitation

• Starts May 6
• Mon-Fri 7-10pm
• Saturday 1-6pm

ADULT ROLES

ELSA

Female | Any Ethnicity | Age 20–35

Born with magical powers she struggles to control, Elsa hides from the world out of fear of hurting others. Beneath that fear is a strong, determined leader ready to claim her place on the throne. Physically and vocally demanding role for a strong musical theatre belter.

ANNA

Female | Any Ethnicity | Age 20–35

Spunky, joyful, and optimistic, Anna defies rules in favor of spreading light and connection. Her emotional resilience and warmth drive the heart of the story. Physically and vocally demanding role for a strong musical theatre belter.

KRISTOFF

Male | Any Ethnicity | Age 20–35

A rugged loner with a big heart and strong moral compass. Raised by the Hidden Folk, he’s blunt but sincere. Baritone role with some singing, but primarily a strong acting role.

HANS

Male | Any Ethnicity | Age 20–35

Charming and ambitious, the 13th son of a king who uses charisma and cleverness to pursue his goals. Baritone role with some singing; strong acting required.

OLAF

Any Gender | Any Ethnicity | Age: Timeless

Joy personified — warm-hearted, comedic, and endlessly optimistic. One big tenor-range song. Requires outstanding comedic instincts.

IMPORTANT OLAF NOTE:

The actor will manipulate an Olaf puppet similar to the original Broadway production. Strong vocal characterization and puppetry skills are essential. 

SVEN

Any Gender | Any Ethnicity | Age: A Middle-Aged Reindeer

Loyal, protective, and full of personality. No spoken dialogue or singing but includes vocalizations and highly physical performance.

IMPORTANT SVEN NOTE:

The actor will manipulate a “Sven Suit” requiring significant strength, stamina, and flexibility. Actors auditioning ONLY for Sven do NOT need to sing at initial auditions but should complete the dance portion and notify the audition panel.

OAKEN

A cheerful salesperson and true believer in hygge. Leads a joyful Act Two opening number.

WESTLETON

Male | Any Ethnicity | Age 30–60

A comedic duke desperate to climb the social ladder. Strong comic timing required.

BULDA

Female | Any Ethnicity | Age 30–50

Matriarch of the Hidden Folk. Wise, magical, nurturing. Mezzo-soprano.

PABBIE

Male | Any Ethnicity | Age 30–50

Patriarch of the Hidden Folk. Magical and grounded. Baritone.

QUEEN IDUNA & KING AGNAAR

Any Ethnicity | Age 30–50

Rulers of Arendelle and loving parents of Elsa and Anna.

ENSEMBLE

Seeking at least 8–12 ensemble performers plus 2 ensemble swings. Strong singer/movers with versatility, teamwork, and positive energy encouraged.

YOUTH ROLES

Please note: We are seeking young actors who appear to be ages 6–12. 

YOUNG ELSA

Calm and thoughtful, eager to meet expectations but increasingly fearful of her powers.

YOUNG ANNA

Joyful, playful, and endlessly curious. Loves her sister deeply and embraces life with enthusiasm.
